Disneyland is THE most popular destination for a family weekend around Paris: there are attractions for all ages, and the regularly offered deals allow for real savings. Access is via the A4 motorway, exit 14 Marne-la-Vallée Val d’Europe, Disney Parks. Parking is free for residents of certain park hotels.
What to do around Paris if you are a history lover? 50 km southeast of Paris, via the A4 or A6, then the Francilienne (N104), is the city of Melun and its large historic district.
Five kilometers further, on the D215, is the Vaux-le-Vicomte estate, with its 17th-century château and French garden. If your weekend around Paris is from May to the end of September, you can start with a candlelit visit on Saturday: in the evening, 2000 candles are lit in the château and garden. The visit concludes at the end of the evening with a fireworks display.
