A couple’s trip to Mallorca

Mallorca is one of the best destinations for a romantic weekend getaway, to escape everyday life, or even to pop the big question. This beautiful Mediterranean island is best explored by rental car, as there are incredibly many hidden coves and inland landscapes that can only be reached by car.
With a rental car, you can see more of this magnificent island in a weekend.
The best place for a selfie in Mallorca
If you post a selfie from Playa de Muro, you might make your friends believe you’re in the Caribbean. With over six kilometers of white sandy beach, this is one of Mallorca’s hidden treasures, not too well-known among tourists. With a fantastic view of the turquoise sea, a wide selection of bars and restaurants in front of sand dunes and small pine forests, this is guaranteed to be the ideal getaway for couples.
The best places to kiss in Mallorca
What could be more passionate than a kiss under one of the Moorish arches of the Palacio Real de la Almudaina, the royal palace in the island’s capital, Palma? At night, the illuminated arches can be seen from the coast, and inside the palace, you will find tapestries, paintings, and furniture from the various historical periods of this Mediterranean island.
Another special part of the palace, perfect for stealing a kiss, is by the fountains in the beautiful palace garden, where you can sit and relax in the peaceful surroundings.
The perfect place for a proposal
The village of Valldemossa is an ideal and unforgettable place to propose to your loved one. Proposing here will be an unforgettable romantic experience for both of you. Valldemossa is located on the west side of the island, in the mountainous area of the Sierra de Tramuntana. The beauty of this picturesque little village is still largely undiscovered and has so far been spared from tourist crowds. This way, you can experience authentic island life as it was many years ago, when the daily life of the locals was still untouched by many visitors.
You can easily reach Valldemossa with a rental car. You will hardly believe that you are only 18 km from Palma when you explore this oasis in the interior of the island. Simply the perfect place for a marriage proposal.
Don’t miss
If you like challenges, you should definitely visit Cala de Sa Calobra and Cala Tuent (Cala is Spanish for cove). The 12 km long, extremely winding road to get there is not for the faint-hearted and is another reason to get a rental car. The road was designed by the Italian engineer Antonio Paretti, and it is rumored that he got his inspiration from the twists needed to tie a tie.
The thrilling drive through tunnels carved into the raw rock is worth every fluttering heartbeat, as the view when you arrive is simply incomparable. The bay of Sa Calobra, the Torrent de Pareis (confluence of two streams), and the dramatic Gorg Blau (blue gorge) are truly spectacular. You should also not miss Cala Tuent, where the blue-green sea sparkles under the Mediterranean sun in summer and winter.
