Noël is coming, it’s time to take a break and escape a few kilometers from Paris. Here are some destination ideas you can reach in a few hours by renting a car from Paris.

The closest destinations to Paris

– Disneyland Paris: Snowflakes, light garlands, majestic Christmas tree, this is the magic of Disneyland during the holidays. You can reach the amusement park from Paris via the A4 in just 35 minutes.

– The Christmas market of Provins: Provins is a medieval city located in Seine et Marne, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take the A4 from Paris, exit n°13 Serris – Provins, then follow the D231. It takes about an hour and a quarter to reach the city and visit its Christmas market.

– Reims and its Christmas village: Reims is a city located in the Champagne-Ardenne region, famous for its magnificent 13th-century cathedral. In December, the whole city lights up and the Christmas village opens its doors with more than 130 chalets offering many gastronomic and artisanal products. About an hour and a half drive via the A4 Paris-Strasbourg highway.

A little further away (more than 2 hours)

– Lille: Lille and its historic city center with flamboyant architecture invite you to stroll through the streets. At Christmas, the bricks take on a magical hue with decorations and markets. A must-see, just 220 kilometers from Paris by following the A1. Count about two and a half hours of driving.

– The Vosges Massif: For a vacation not far from Paris, opt for the magnificent Vosges Massif. Its snow-covered peaks offer beautiful snowshoeing or cross-country skiing hikes. Moments of conviviality guaranteed just four hours from the capital via the A4.

– Alsace and its Christmas markets: Strasbourg, Colmar, their Christmas markets, their age-old traditions make Alsace a destination of choice during the holiday season. And their illuminated streets are just a few hours from Paris. Count about four and a half hours to reach Strasbourg via the A4, and about five hours to go to Colmar. Take the car to experience the magic of Christmas!
