Let yourself be surprised by the magical Asturian landscapes

This time, from Europcar, we propose a peculiar “O” shaped route where we invite you to enjoy 4 key points, including Mirador del Príncipe, Lagos de Enol, Lago La Ercina, and Minas de Buferrera, considered incredible destinations that will capture all your attention.
This route is composed of a natural environment where you can enjoy the most incredible corners of this region. Don’t miss any detail, follow us and you will find all the places that will be a must-see for an unforgettable experience.
Mirador del príncipe
It is located in the incomparable surroundings of the Lagos de Covadonga, from where you can appreciate magnificent views of the entire Vega de Comeya with the Sierra de Sueve and the valley of the Río Güena in the background.

El lago Enol
It is the largest of the 3 lagoons of the Lagos de Covadonga and has a characteristic emerald green color. Notably, at the bottom of the lake, there is a statue of the Virgin of Covadonga. A place full of magic, blue skies, and fresh air, a must-stop to take a breath and appreciate this place.
Lago La Ercina
Two kilometers from Lago Enol is Lago La Ercina, smaller than the first, but with spectacular views of the mountains. It is one of those places that will take your breath away, during the day it is spectacular and undoubtedly the sunset is a true marvel. From there, you can also observe the local birds, such as crows and eagles.

Mina Buferrera
This is a conditioned and rehabilitated path in an area of picturesque crags that show the remains of mining exploitation – rails, wagons, and old galleries – a really pleasant route that simulates the idea of what the mine was like a few years ago in a privileged environment, a true natural paradise.

Getting around Asturias
We hope you liked this proposal for the Lagos de Covadonga and that you are encouraged to enjoy one of the most beautiful landscapes of Asturias. If you want to get to know Asturias, you will need a car. You can rent one upon your arrival at the airport. The roads are well maintained, although you will have to be very careful in the more rural areas, which can be a bit narrow and, in case of bad weather, may have poor visibility.
