Lyon in a day, between work and freedom

You have the chance to be in Lyon for business reasons? Don’t miss this golden opportunity to visit Lyon and discover an environment rich in historical remains and natural treasures, during a getaway or an afternoon of freedom. Indeed, what could be better, after an exhausting meeting or to beautifully conclude a company seminar, than renting a car and going for a drive after visiting Lyon? With a car, you can also more easily reach Saint-Exupéry airport, which has the disadvantage of being quite far from the city center.
Things to see or do between meetings
Would you gladly take a breath of fresh air after an exhausting morning of negotiations? About 5 kilometers west of Lyon, going up rue du 4 août, the Feyssine natural park in Villeurbanne welcomes you with its tree-lined paths and green spaces.
But, if you have a little more time, you can also take the A6 to cover the fifteen kilometers that separate you from the Mont d’Or massif, where hiking trails wind between stone quarries, forts, and cabornes.
The A7 connects Lyon to Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon in less than fifteen minutes. Between two meetings, take the time to discover the two Gallo-Roman aqueducts of this quiet town.
How to enjoy an afternoon of freedom
Take the opportunity to get a little away from the city center and discover the surroundings of Lyon in one day, through three exceptional towns.
The first is, without a doubt, Givors, often coupled with a visit to Lyon. Its Cité des Etoiles, listed as a 20th-century heritage site, and its Maison du Fleuve Rhône make it a favorite walking spot just 25 kilometers south of Lyon, via the A7.
Continue your journey for about ten kilometers and take the ‘Vienne’ exit. There, the pleasure of strolling among the Gallo-Roman remains is matched only by the charm of the vineyards and nature reserves bordering the Via Rhôna.
Birthplace of Berlioz, Côte Saint-André is connected to Lyon by the A43 highway. 70 kilometers separate the capital of the Gauls from that of the Bièvre, making it an ideal destination for a half-day or more getaway, to discover the Louis XI castle and the Museum of Liqueurs.
