If you’ve had your fill of beach life, jump in your rental car to see what else is on offer nearby. A three hour drive will get you to Katoomba in the stunning Blue Mountains for some amazing sight-seeing and hiking opportunities. If you’re up for a serious hike, the Grand Canyon walk is a particularly impressive trail – it takes around two and a half hours to complete the circular route so make sure you allow enough time! Wentworth Falls is not to be missed while you’re here – walking around the falls you can stop at multiple viewing platforms to admire the scenery and get that perfect photo opportunity !
If you’re happy to drive a bit further, a three and a half hour drive to Kangaroo Valley is well worth the journey. This scenic Aussie town is surrounded by lush green countryside and is probably most famous for Hampden Bridge, a distinctive wooden suspension bridge over the Kangaroo River. For sporty types there is horse-riding, kayaking, hiking and golf, but if you’re after something more relaxing, simply stroll around the town and find out why Kangaroo Valley is becoming known as a foodie destination!
